If you voted yes on Prop 8, you can go fuck yourself.  Taking the rights away from other people is not right.  Being Gay is not a choice, and who the fuck cares if someone gets married?  It doesn’t affect you, and marriage is already a joke with divorce rates over 50%.  Take your religious bullshit and shove it up your ass you ancient neanderthals.

Only thing we can hope is these people grow the fuck up and stop butting into everyone’s lives.  I just don’t have words for it, I don’t understand how people treat other people like this.

And we can at least be thankful for Obama and the fact that the abortion bans didn’t pass.

Proposition 8 was about one single issue, it was to amend the California constitution to ban same sex couples from the right of getting married.  Nothing more, nothing less.

It had nothing to do with forcing anyone to take part in services for same sex couples.  No one was going to be forced into presiding over the ceremony or be forced to allow it in their establishment, no one would be forced to teach it at school, or be forced to provide adoption services to same sex couples (by the way if you are interested in adoption and in a same sex relationship there are adoption lawyers that specialize in that already).  Same sex couples had been getting married in California for months now, and the only people it effected were those in same sex relationships who wanted to get married.

This was a completely religious agenda, the prop was put together by some nut-job Mormon who was quoted on saying that it was his goal it integrate biblical law into real laws.

To me, and this may seem extreme, but its the very heavy straw on the camels back, this had destroyed any question.  I used to be pessimistic agnostic, doubtful but open to the idea of a god/God(non-gender specific mind you).  Call me Atheist.

I’m upset that it passed, but I only see it as a minor setback. I read that eight years ago, a ban on gay marraige in California was supported by 61% of voters. This year, it was only 52%. I wouldn’t be surprised if the ban was overturned in four years. We will get there eventually.

Obama’s victory is the most important thing here. Not only that, but a Democrat majority in both the House and Senate. Equality takes time, but it will arrive.

Yeah, that’s how I’ve been looking at it.  Well said.

You should never associate God with religion. In reality they’re two completely different things.

But yeah. I was under the impression that America was a “free” country.

EDIT: Oh, and Olbermann is a sexy bitch.

Yeah...I know, and maybe it was just me over-reacting and reacting with emotion rather than logic, so it really has nothing to do with this so much, other things....
