Wow, Expert is hard, but we beat a few with every good teamwork but it wasn’t easy and friendly fire RAPES on expert. I beat everything on Normal and I’m working on achievements right now.
Versus is very difficult, particularly against a good team. I find it to generally be a bit easier to be an infected.
Being a Tank is fun as hell, I raped people and knocked them all over. The Boomer isn’t terribly fun to play but he’s crucial, if you can coat everyone in vomit that is generally when the rest of your team can come in and pin people to end that round. Hunter is pretty fun but I’m having difficulty pouncing on people, I need to work on it. Smoker isn’t that great but can be fun when you pull someone completely away from their friends and rape the hell out of them.
I find you’re better off going slow against the CPU and finding extra supplies to keep you guys going, and boarding yourself in houses or on vehicles during rushes. However in Versus mode it’s all about speed since the powerful infected (and smarter) humans spawn on a timer so you have to GO GO GO!!! It’s interesting, one is slow, the other is fast, which is pretty cool since it feels like you’re escaping the city before a nuke goes off or something in Versus mode. It’s interesting how they score it and how you switch sides.
I thought the game would get boring fast, but I’m warming up to it. Valve just needs to release new weapons and maps to keep it fresh, and open up the other stages to Versus mode. I can’t really think of any major problems with those levels, they probably just didn’t have time to optimize it for that. I feel bad for the 360 owners since they’re probably boned but hopefully they’ll fix it for us PC players.
